New Look, Same Vibes
We have a website, y’all! And by “we” I mean you and I, because every single one of you who’s shown love to, and interest in ThrifTheorem has been my inspiration. When I started the Instagram page two years ago, I had no idea which direction to go in (or what I was doing, really), but I knew I wanted to share my love for finding and styling secondhand gems.
After trying a few different things on IG I couldn’t help but feel like something was missing - cute photos are great - but for me, the heart of it is the process. As someone who’s been scouring the seediest of thrift stores and weirdest of garage sales for over ten years, thrifting has 100% become a lifestyle. Emotions, vibes, countless hours and beyond are invested into the search, discovery, and styling of every piece I find. Knowing this, it felt like I was doing a disservice to the art of thrifting by only showcasing the refined product.
Thrifting inherently comes with benefits like helping decrease fast fashion consumption and waste, finding unique or discontinued pieces, and of course keeping dollars in our pockets—but that’s just scratching the surface. My intention with this evolution of ThrifTheorem is to create a space where I can holistically exhibit my thrift world while building a community through information sharing.
My plan is to try out different things over the course of the next few months and beyond—your feedback is not only welcome, it’s necessary! Thanks for reading this far and going on this ride with me; I can’t wait to build something cool with you!
Happy MLK Day,
Lauren
